The Farm

In 1854 Conant’s Riverside Farm purchased from Orson Goodrich by Samuel Conant, consisting of approximately 500 acres of cropland, forest and pasture, next to an important source of water. The seventh generation of Conant farmers now works 1000 acres, 450 Holsteins, and remains committed to continuing a tradition of farming excellence and sustainable environmental practices. The Farm is a proud member of Agri-Mark Co-operative, which supplies milk for the World's Best Cheese - Cabot Creamery.

The Corn

In 1985 Deb Conant decided to open a small corn stand in front of the farmhouse. Her business model was simple. Plant classic seeds in lush, fertile soil. Let it grow tall and strong and then, pick fresh daily so no one eats day old corn. Today, Conants Sweet Corn is the destination for corn lovers, BBQ parties, and a variety of local chefs. Still the practice remains the same, pick corn fresh daily - every morning at 7am - so that customers have the best quality corn possible.

We have not been diligent with our staff profiles from 2011 to the present, as you can see and we truly apologize to all of the committed corn pickers that have been a part of the picking crew through those years!
As we enter the 2021 season we now welcome our grandkids into the 'fold' of CPA's. They round out an awesome picking crew!

Braden Yeats, CPA - Also attaining a well deserved promotion to Senior Corn Picker, while continuing to work for the boss's husband on the farm.
Deb Conant, MCPA - Boss - Continues to provide moral support in the corn field as well as ample good food to sustain the ever starving CPA's.
